Welcome to The Children of One End Street
We are a kindergarten in Stroud town, just like a small family with children aged three to seven years old. We are regulated by Ofsted and the Steiner Waldorf Fellowship. With regular inspections and advisory visits, from both the local education authority, Ofsted and the Steiner Waldorf Fellowhip, we evaluate our principles and practice. Our aim is to encourage all the children to become independent and to develop the beginnings of empathy through imitation and example. Work in the kindergarten is love in action, a joy of learning, movement, building, stories, song and care of the natural world. The songs, rhymes and stories we have each day reflect the seasons and with a strong ethos to look after one another the older children soon help the little ones in all we do.
We prepare all of our snacks for each other, baking cakes for birthdays and biscuits for special occasions, as well as creating seasonal crafts. We card fleece, wash, spin, weave and knit with wool from Shropshire and Herdwick sheep locally. We share and repair the toys we have to play with.
Sing, dance and do!"
